The Royal

Victorian hotel grandeur meets the 21st century Built in 1882 at the beginning of the gold rush, Perth’s Royal Hotel owes its grand Victorian architecture and wrought iron detailing to a period of great prosperity for Western Australia. Following a $13M restoration in partnership with Charter Hall, the ‘The Royal’ is once more a magnet for people who enjoy its sophisticated ambience and hospitality.

From a private dining room to a shady balcony, The Royal offers a range of experiences. While respecting the heritage-listed building’s original features and décor, our design adds subtle updates such as exposed services and brickwork, concrete columns and discreet partitioning. The depth and richness of the interior palette provide a perfect foil for the tall windows and polished wooden floors of the street level spaces, and just the right hint of fin de siècle luxury for the more intimate rooms above.
